Zowie Powie

Last week I took this photo of Steve's (a guy on my dock) new bike:

Found out this morning a young lady chatting on her cell phone turned left and did a U-turn in front of Steve.

Steve's new bike got totaled and ended its life at just 130 miles.

Fortunately, Steve survived with only a limp.

DRIVING IS A FULL-TIME JOB WITH LIFE-ALTERING CONSEQUENCES

PLEASE DRIVE WITH BOTH EYES OPEN

wow.. this is the second incident like this I've heard of. One of my sister's friends got a vintage Harley, had it custom painted, took it out for his first spin, and totaled it. He went to the hospital, his bike went to the junk yard. Sad but true.

Motorcycles terrify me on the road. I am always afraid a rider will lose his balance, turn too sharp, something in front of me, too fast for my brakes. *shudder* Ick. L isn't allowed to have one, ever.
