I Thank You

I think it's fun to take contemporary songs, and re-write the lyrics.

Like, A.D.I.D.A.S. becomes All Day I Dream About Salvation. Sounds Korny, right? But take a look at the Sam and Dave classic I Thank You.

Wish ZZ Top would do this version instead:

You didn't have to love me like you did
But you did, but you did.
And I thank you.

You didn't have to save me like you did
But you did, but you did.
And I thank you.

You gave your life for someone else
That's how I know your loved has conquered death

You made me feel like I've never felt
Mercy so sweet I had to holler for help

You didn't have to love me but you did
But you did but you did
And I thank you

You didn't have to save me but you did
But you did but you did
And I thank you.

Every day is something new,
You showed me Grace and forgiveness too
You got me wanting to be like you
Just so I can love like you do

You didn't have to die in my place but you did
But you did, but you did
And I thank you
No one else could have conquered death
But you did like you did
And I thank you.

Now my life has forever changed
Without your love Jesus I'd still be the same
Now I know what Paul was talking about
Hear me say you got me turned right around
I want to thank you
