What kind of man was Christ? (updated)

The popular image of a bearded, pale-faced and sad-eyed frail little man in a white robe clutching a lamb to his chest doesn't seem to represent Christ the way he's depicted in scripture.

A bearded lady-man would hardly have the conviction to whip and toss money changers from the temple, cast out chain-breaking demons, raise Lazarus from the dead, call himself the Son of God and willingly suffer and die in our place on the cross.

How would you describe a man like that?

Yet he saved them for his name's sake,
to make his mighty power known.
- Psalm 106:8

The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."
- Zephaniah 3:17

Who is this coming from Edom,
from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson?
Who is this, robed in splendor,
striding forward in the greatness of his strength?
"It is I, speaking in righteousness,
       mighty to save."

- Isaiah 63:1

with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever.
- Psalm 136:12
